Chaput
For the record - or more accurately, for my record - since (a) I want to be able to find this quickly again, and (b) since he's a hero of mine, Archbishop Charles Chaput offers a critique of those who heap adulation on the internal mediator in the Oval Office here.
THIS IS WHERE I HANG MY HAT - so aptly stated by Archbishop Chaput:
American Catholics need to realize that many in the current generation haven’t just been "assimilated" into the American culture, but have in fact been "absorbed and bleached and digested by it," Archbishop Chaput asserted.
If this realization doesn’t happen, the coming generations will continue on the same path and "a real Catholic presence in American life will continue to weaken and disappear," said Chaput.
"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
