Kutuzov Strategy

Faced with an apparent indomitable French army, Prince Mikhail Illarionovich Golenishchev-Kutuzov, general of the Russian forces, withdrew his men as the French marched on and overtook Moscow.

The French under Bonaparte found an evacuated Moscow, a hollow victory, and, eventually, retreated, during which Kutuzov's forces nipped at their dispirited heels.

Is there a parable here for today? Oh, and, do the Amish pay taxes?
