Further Cuts Will Follow

Mark Steyn connects the dots in ways that, say, Attorney General Holder juuust doesn't want to. Why is that, do you think?

Because prior to his appointment as Attorney General Eric Holder where Holder was a managing(?) partner in the powerful Washington, DC-based law firm Covington & Burling (C&B). C&B has done considerable pro-bono work for captured Islamic terrorist and has represented 17 Yemeni detainees (and one Pakistani national) in Guantanamo Bay. C&B has been a major part of the terrorist defense bar. To my knowledge C&B has contributed no pro-bono time to any US servicemen engaged in fighting the war on terror.

And here I speculate: because C&B has what C&B touts as a “strategic alliance with Institution Quraysh for Law & Policy further expands and strengthens our ability to provide high quality legal services to clients operating in and from the Middle East. Institution Quraysh for Law & Policy (iQ) is a transnational legal consulting firm with bases in Doha, Jeddah, and London. As the only top-tier legal service provider of its kind with Gulf and international law practices, iQ is advantageously placed to offer specific advice on legal matters in the Arab World, Europe, and the United States. iQ has established itself as a pre-eminent legal service provider in the Middle East, and is the first Gulf law firm to have a presence in the United Kingdom.”

Institution Quraysh

“Institution Quraysh for Law & Policy (iQ) is a transnational legal consulting firm with bases in Doha, Jeddah, and London. At its core, iQ is a dynamic think-tank, established, in the words of its founder Malik Dahlan (originally from Mecca Saudi Arabia), to provide a “distinctive and collective consulting solution in the Middle East”. As the only top-tier legal service provider of its kind with Gulf and international law practices, iQ is advantageously placed to offer specific advice on legal matters in the Arab World, Europe, and the U.S.A. iQ’s expertise spans both the private and public sectors, helping leading corporations create and sustain competitive advantage, and assisting governments and public entities in achieving their regional and global objectives.”
