Luciferian Naïveté, Expediancy

This is a manifestation of this. What riles and infuriates, however, is this. Why? Because it feeds into the fallacious and luciferian thinking of this.

Prez @ Georgetown Tomorrow

Rumor has it that the Last Self-Help commander-in-chief will be speaking at Georgetown again tomorrow. Will any Christian in general and Catholic in particular symbols be covered again? Might I recommend that he come in time to hear Mass, respectfully request a blessing from a priest, and then humbly speak in hushed tones about the season of Lent?

Perhaps I ask too much.

Stages of Spiritual Starvation

At yesterday's Daytona 500 race, Jeff Gordon was sponsored by the AARP's new publicity stunt, Drive to End Hunger. How much did many minutes of commercial time cost during the Daytona 500? Vroom vroom.

A noble endeavor, you say? Perhaps; unless one looks behind the curtain at the man pulling the levers and turning the knobs. The AARP buckled and became an arm of the aspirations of Last Self-Help Administration even before the last election. If you see altruism in this new endeavor, I see an attempt to show even good-old boy racin' fans can be influenced by the cynical Left.

Instead of spending umpteen thousands of dollars on this new endeavor, AARP - and you, gentle reader - should with Monsignor Charles Pope consider a deeper analysis of hunger in the starving West; one that, I think, makes far more sense and, ultimately, can do far more good, here.

Clueless

He just doesn't get it, does he? If he spent one-half his time trying to reach the American public with the same fervor, he might just make some friends.

Meanwhile, he and most of the MSM ignores this. Sigh.

Hubris vs. Catholic Truth

How do you compare these personages? Easy - with great similarity and motive. The man on the left, Henry VIII, dissolved the monasteries of England to get lead for his cannon balls from their roofs and money and lands for his nouveau rich gentry flunkies. The man on the right - here receiving an honorary law degree from the University of Notre Dame - wants to dissolve the influence in terms of faith and morals of the Catholic Church with the help of such "royal" personages as the president of Notre Dame, Fr. John Jenkins.

Simple equations in luciferian logic and inference. We have much to learn from the so-called English "reformation".

The Curse

As Notre Dame got stomped by Navy (again), one sees with how much intensity Navy plays.

Notre Dame used to play with a chip on its shoulder; as though something set it apart from everybody else.

You don't suppose that as Notre Dame has whittled off the edges of its Catholic faith and morals, the intensity it once possessed - what made Notre Dame distinct, different, set apart - has dwindled on the playing field, do you?

They LOOK big, strong, well-fed, and well-funded. Too bad looks don't translate into wins.

'Mr. President, Whose Side are You On?'

From my home state, Representative Mike Pence asks: "Mr. President, whose side are you on?"
"By their fruits shall you know them."

Celebrate June - Sacred Heart of Jesus

Just remember: he has been open and forthright about what he said he would do and he is doing it. The majority of America voted him into office. So it should come as no surprise that he has proclaimed June to be dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

No. Wait. Check that.

Friday Follies

Caroline Glick of The Jerusalem Post warns that it is Time to Plan for War.

Chuck Colson quotes Soren Kierkegaard: “Suppose,” Kierkegaard wrote, “someone invented…a convenient little talking tube which could be heard over the whole land. I wonder if the police would not forbid it, fearing that the whole country would become mentally deranged.” I would argue it is past the national stage; it is now global derangement.

I applaud Franklin Graham and James Dobson who see the danger of those who are using institutional authority to expunge the Christian faith from the public forum.

Doomed to Failure

"... force without spiritual foundation (is) doomed to failure," wrote Adolf Hitler in Mein Kampf. Of course, basing his Third Reich on a kind of kitsch German paganism was not sufficiently endowed with transcendence either. However, any governmental leader ought to heed his advice; in particular, those who assume they can will to power their regime in a sort of functional atheism. This is the recent and peculiar dream of Gnostic secularists who try to lift humanity - and themselves - by their own bootstraps.

"When an unclean spirit goes out of someone, it
roams through arid regions searching for rest but, finding none, it says, 'I
shall return to my home from which I came.'
But upon returning, it finds it swept clean and put in
order.
Then it goes and brings back seven other spirits more wicked than itself who move in and dwell there, and the last condition of that person is worse than the first." (Lk 11:24ff)

The vacuity of such endeavor will quickly be filled, as Our Lord warns (above), with the spiritual entities that C. S. Lewis warned of in his book, That Hideous Strength, and mortals had best steer clear of. Selah.

The drunk driver has the right of way

When it comes right down to it, we will find that the direction the Last Self-Help Administration has taken the United States of America so far has been determined by monstrous ego. Health Care Reform, so-called, regardless of whether or not one subscribes to the Doctrine of Original Sin, is not only new and untried, but as anyone with a lick of sense knows, not foolproof.

While a small federal program might have covered the +/- 30,000,000 Americans not covered previously by health insurance, a new, untried, and hardly foolproof program will now begin its new wheels a-turning that purports to cover ALL Americans. That means, gentle reader, that everyone will be liable to its creakings and groanings and mistakes and botches and misfittings and errors and (fill in blank).

Only a leadership that does not care a whit for all Americans would do this new, untried, and hardly foolproof thing to ALL its citizens ... just because. It is the difference between belief in ideological collectivization on the one hand, and a humility that is clearly lacking in this hubris-filled, power-drunk Adminstration.

And the drunken driver at the wheel of this juggernaut, as we - and he - know, has the right of way.

Wise as Serpents, Innocent as Doves

(-bumped to the top- Expect to see this 'bumped' from time to time)
We must have our eyes wide open. As Our Lord admonished us, we must be "wise as serpents and as innocent as doves" (Mt 10,16). The same few men who now occupy the Oval Office, who have strived so hard to obtain so much power and control over the fate not only of this once-great nation but also others so indelibly influenced by the true biblical spirit, are now - if one were to follow the minute yet certain threads of power and control - are now trying their best to tear down and destroy both the credibility and the influence of the sacramental presence of Christ in our world; namely, the Catholic Church.

Like Elizabeth and Lord Cecil (Burghley) in the reign of Tudor terror in England, there is very little these power-mongers will not do, strings they will not pull, to try their utmost to undo the epistemological, anthropological, and theological allegiance of millions of Catholics in this and any other country that happens to be within earshot or readership of their onslaught against Christ's "one holy catholic and apostolic Church."

Read Evelyn Waugh's Edmund Campion. Watch Michael Wood's In Search of Shakespeare. Understand that "Bloody Mary" was a blip on the continuum of religious persecution compared with the model for the modern police state that was conducted behind the skirts of Queen Elizabeth, while hanging, having one's "privy parts" cut off and entrails roasted before your still living eyes, then being quartered was the norm of those sentenced to death at Tyburn Tree.

But our modern Lord Cecil and associates want nothing other than complete and monolithic power. "Whatever it takes" is the pragmatic motto of these officer-class ubermensch leaders. And they are confident they can do it.

Our response must be that recommended by T. S. Eliot in The Four Quartets: "prayer, observance, discipline, thought and action" and in that order. Or, as Gil Bailie quotes John Paul II as having quipped: "We ha(ve) two choices: a practical one and a hopelessly naive mystical one. The practical one (is) to fall on our knees and pray for the interecession of Our Lady of Czestochowa. The hopelessly naive one (is) to organize a meeting of politicians and bureaucrats."

You know me: engage in Marian chivalry. And never let go of your faith, hope, and charity - even toward these power-mongers who are forgetful that they must stand before Our Lord on the Day of Judgment. They, too, are forgetful that the Devil tends to break and throw away his "tools" when he finishes with them.

Fight the good fight! Pray! Love! And be Pope's men - and women - all.

An Email from the Heartland

From an email sent to me from my sister:

In
1952
President Truman
established one day a year as a
"National Day of Prayer."

In
1988
President Reagan
designated the
First Thursday in May of each year as
the National Day of Prayer.

In June
2007
(then)
Presidential
Candidate Barack Obama
declared that the USA Was no longer a
Christian nation.

This year
President Obama,
canceled the
21st annual National Day
of Prayer ceremony
at the White
House under the rouse
Of "not wanting to offend anyone"

On September 25, 2009
from 4 am until 7 pm,
a National Day of Prayer
for the Muslim religion was Held on Capitol Hill,
beside the White House.

There were over 50,000 Muslims that
Day in DC.

I guess it doesn't matter
if "Christians"
Are offended by this event -
We obviously
Don't count as
"anyone" anymore.

The direction
This country is headed
Should strike fear in the heart of every Christian.
Especially knowing that the
Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be
Converted they should be Annihilated

"If my people, Who are called by my Name,
Will humble themselves And pray,
And seek my face, and Turn from their Wicked ways,

We must pray for our nation, our communities,
our families, and especially our children.
They are the ones that are going to suffer the most
If we don't PRAY!

Arkes - A Day of Infamy

Hadley Arkes:
Sunday, March 21, 2010 is a day that will live in infamy, or as one wag put it, live in “infirmary.” For that is the day on which the House of Representatives voted into law the national takeover of medical care. At this final moment, the last veil of pretense dropped away, and the “pro-life Democrats” were revealed for what they had always truly been: liberals for whom the protection of the unborn would always be subordinate to the interests of the liberal agenda. But what can one make of a passion for “health care”that is willing to absorb, without a wince of regret, a measure that will encourage more killing of the unborn by the provision of public funding, public endorsement, public promotion?

Goldman - Obamalypse Now

As both my readers will attest (okay, apparently I have five), I occasionally fixate on the demolitionist living in the White House. But let it be said I cannot hold a candle to what David P. Goldman of Spengler fame is doing at First Things with an erudition and research to back it up. His last three posts about the on-going Obamalypse are here.

VDH - Revolutionary Times

VDH :
President Obama has crossed the Rubicon with the healthcare vote. The bill was not really about medicine; after all, a moderately priced, relatively small federal program could offer the poorer not now insured, presently not on Medicare or state programs like Medicaid or Medical, a basic medical plan.

We have no interest in stopping trial lawyers from milking the system for billions. And we don’t want to address in any meaningful way the
individual’s responsibility in some cases (drink, drugs, violence, dangerous sex, bad diet, sloth, etc.) for costly and chronic health procedures.

No, instead, the bill was about assuming a massive portion of the private sector, hiring tens of thousands of loyal, compliant new employees, staffing new departments with new technocrats, and feeling wonderful that we “are leveling the playing field” and have achieved another Civil Rights landmark law. (NB: do the math: add higher state income taxes in most states; the new Clinton-era federal income tax rates to come; the proposed lifting of limits on income exposed to FICA taxes; and now new healthcare charges — and I think you can reach in some cases a bite of 65%to 70% of one’s income.)

So we are in revolutionary times...

I Remember a Free America

A mad man at the helm, veering wildly to port, hench-persons gleefully applauding and dragging the country into a gulag of unprecedented control. What's to worry about?
